It’s been a long time! お久しぶりです！

Hello everyone! It’s been a long time!
Sorry to be away for so long.

I moved to Japan for work for two years and had no time to update this blog. However while I was away, I had received many comments, emails and feedback about this blog. Because of this blog, I even had requests from NHK wanting to interview me about Japanese restaurants.

I am deeply honoured for the publicity this blog has given me. Thanks to everyone who have kept this blog alive while I was away.

And now that I had moved back from Japan, I received many requests to re-start this blog. So here I am once again, eager to get this blog started. For a start, I have launched a new content page for all the content I have published some years ago. I have added two new sections, Japan Stories and Kuroshitsuji Musical, which I intend to update with some real content soon.

Till then, take care and enjoy my blog!

皆さん、こんにちは！お久しぶりだね！
長い間更新できなくて、ごめんね。
仕事のため、二年間ほど日本に引っ越しをしたから。
仕事が忙しくて、ブログは以前のそのままに置きっぱなしだった。
けれど、いない間に、たくさんのお問い合わせや、コメント、フィードバックなど皆さんにいただいて、感動した。
このブログのおかげで、NHKの番組でライブインタービューに参加することを誘われたこともあった。
皆さんのご声援を、本当にありがとうございました。

日本から帰国してから、またたくさんの人々に「そのブログを続けたらどう？」と提案してくれた。
だから、またやろうと決めたんだ。
始めに、以前作ったページを集まる新しい目次を作った。
その中に、新しい内容二つ入れた。「日本の話し」と「黒ミュ」です。
新しい内容をまた載せるから、またお越しくださいませ。
その時まで、ブログを楽しんで、元気でね！

Trust You by 伊藤由奈

お久しぶりです！

最近はとても忙しいです。でも、今は仕事もう止めたので、暇になれると思う。最近のカラオケクラスで、伊藤由奈の「Trust You」が好きに成ったよ。今皆に分け合いたいです。

I have been very busy lately and hence unable to update this blog. However, as I have stopped my job recently in preparation for the JET Programme 2012, I hope I can have more time on my hands. Recently, Yuna Ito’s Trust You grew on me, and I want to share the meaningful lyrics and beautiful melody with everyone.

最近 Dream Live 2 もう一回見た後で、この言葉を思い出して、よく覚えた。

「血の滲むような努力は、きれいな一筋の汗になる、きっとそんな汗はクリスタル、栄光を集めて虹に輝く。」

今ジェットプログラムに参加ができること、本当に今までの努力賞だと思うね。これからも、栄光を集めて虹に輝くために、頑張ります！

Recently, I watched Dream Live 2 again and I was constantly reminded of the following phrase. I remembered this phrase well.

“Our great efforts running in our blood will turn into beautiful sweat, certainly this sweat will be like a crystal. It will gather our glory and shine like a rainbow.”

Now that I have made it to the JET Programme, this phrase means more to me than ever before. I hope that I continue to shine like a rainbow through the sweat I will accumulate in this programme.

This song, entitled ‘Crystal’, was performed by the 2nd Generation cast in Prince of Tennis Musical: Dream Live 2nd, held on August 20, 2005.

Noriko Nakahara Japan Photo Exhibition 2012

今日中原龍子さんの日本写真展へ行きました。
写真が少ないですけど、いい写真なんです。
写真を見た後で、ちょっと思い出したので、ここで皆に分け合いたいんです。

Today, I visited the Japan Photo Exhibition by Ms. Noriko Nakahara, a Japanese photographer from Osaka, Japan. Although there weren’t many photographs on display, the photographs were really good. It evoked some thoughts in me, which I would like to share here.

この写真展は今から今月の三十一日までで、The Pigeonhole Cafeでします。
皆さん時間があったら、ぜひ写真を見に行ってください。

Let’s pray for Tohoku, one year on from 3.11.2011

一年前の今日、日本東北大津波を起こりました。

今日がもうすぐ終わりましたので、今ここで読んでいる皆さんは、一緒に東北の皆さんに祈りましょう。

死者と生還者に祈り、東北の復興が滞りなく進み、今からいろいろな挑戦を越えるように！

それが私の願いです。

One year ago on this date, the Great East Japan earthquake and tsunami took place.

As today soon comes to an end, I want to pray with everyone who is reading this post right now.

I pray for both the casualties and the survivors, for Tohoku’s reconstruction and restoration to proceed without hitches, and for Japan to overcome all odds from this moment onward.

May peace fall on Japan for the upcoming years!

3.11 Seminar on Tohoku’s Reconstruction

昨夜私はJapan Creative Centreの研究会に参加しました。
その研究会は日本東北の復興といろいろな未来の戦いについてです。
シンガポールのLee Kuan Yew School of Public Policyの学生達提出してもらいました。

その学生達が今年の二月十八日から二十六日まで、日本東北いろいろなところへ行って、東北にいながら、インフォメーションを集めて、戻った後でレポートを書いて、そしてその研究会で提出しました。その見学の目的は以下の三つです：
一、災害と復興
二、伝統と改変
三、市民社会と政府

日本東北行った学生達は全部四十人ぐらいで、二十ぐらいの国から来ました。その学生達の中に、三人が自分の感想と集めたインフォメーションを提出しました。

その研究会は殆ど去年三月十一日の災害からいろいろの災害救助についてですけど、重要のこと三つ提出されました。
一、二十一世紀日本の戦い
二、エナジーと人口動態についての挑戦
三、復興中日本人の素晴らしい気質

私はその研究会にすべていい感じをもらって、たくさん学んで、そして東北へもう一度行きたい感じを持っていさせました。

Yesterday, I attended a seminar at the Japan Creative Centre. It was a seminar where 3 students of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy presented the information they have collected and their views on the reconstruction of Tohoku Japan after the March 11 disaster and the challenges Japan is and will face in the future. It was overall an informative and interesting seminar, and I have learnt a lot about Japan in that short one hour and a half.

東北復興写真展～明日への力～

先週の土曜日にシンガポールのJapan Creative Centreへ展覧会を見に行った。その展覧会は去年日本東北大津波の記念のためにした。「東北復興写真展～明日への力～」です。意味がたくさんあるので、皆も行ってください。

Last Saturday, I attended a photo exhibition at the Japan Creative Centre, Singapore. This photo exhibition is held as a memorial of the March 11 Great East Japan disaster which happened this time last year. The photo exhibition, entitled “Tohoku Photo Exhibition ~ Rebuilding for a Better Tomorrow ~”, is a meaningful event. If you are available, please do go and take a look at their photo exhibits.

その写真展で小学生の絵をたくさん見せられて、その絵の思いが簡単ですが、意味がたくさんあるよ。

This photo exhibition exhibits many drawings done by Japanese primary school students. Although the drawings may seem simple, they all contain wonderful meanings like the ones below.

3.11 Documentary: Japan’s children of the tsunami

一年間ぐらい前に、日本東北大津波が起こってしまった。今一年間のあとで、その災害をまだ忘れなかったね。東北で死んだ人を祈りながら、このビデオを見てください。これはBBCのドキュメンタリー「津波の子供たち」です。

About one year ago, the Great East Japan Tsunami struck. Now one year later, we have yet to forget about this devastating disaster. As we pray for the victims of this disaster, let us take some time to look at this video. This is a documentary produced by BBC, entitled “Japan’s children of the tsunami”.

もうすぐ東北の大地震の記念日

今日はなんか日記を書きたいので、書きました。日本語がまだまだなので、エラーがあったら許してください。

二千十二年三月四日（月曜日）　

もうすぐ十一日です。あと七日が一年間で、日本東北大津波から。

この一年間は、私が日本に住んでいない人と速く過ぎましたが、東北の人々が悲しくて寂しい一年間を過ぎると思います。日本人の気質が強いですが、自分の親戚を死ぬことを今まだ信じられない人があると思っています。その人はこの一年間で必ず一番長くて痛い時間だと思います。いくら「頑張って」聞いても、痛みがたぶん私達考えられませんね。

二千十一年三月十一日に、日本東北大地震と大津波を起こりました。あの時をよく覚えられました。私は日本でいないんですが、ニュースを聞いてから、すぐ日本にいる友達と声をかけました。皆大丈夫と聞いてから、すこし休まりました。日本はいつも災害の準備する国です。それでも、その大地震と大津波の壊滅は、その大きなほどあって、私がビデオを見ながら、とても悲しみを感じてよく泣きました。

災害の一年前に、私は始めて一人で日本東北へ行きました。それに、自分で東北の人々の親切を経験しました。それで、その災害は私に強くて痛いインパクトがあります。あの時信じられないですが、すぐ何がしなければならないと思いました。最初はシンガポールでの大使館に、応援を上げに手紙を出しました。それから、自分の会社で募金活動を準備しました。一週間のあとで、日本での外国人のボランティアプロジェトを聞いてから、参加しました。それは「Write for Tohoku」のプロジェトです。参加する皆は東北にいる経験を書いて、本に集めて、売ってからの収益を全部日本東北の災害救助に上げました。そして、このブロぐで日本のニュースと募金活動のニュースをよく書きました。読んだ施した皆をどうもありがとうございました。

日本から友達や先生などあるので、日本人から多い親切がもらったので、この一年間で日本を祈りました。去年の八月天理教の学校に転校してから、天理教の礼拝を参加しながら、日本の皆の安全を祈りました。私はいつか日本東北へ戻りたくて、東北の以前の美をもう一度見たいです。

日本東北の大地震と大津波はとても残念な事ですが、不可避な事です。今でも関係当事者の痛みがまだ終わらないと思います。ですから最後に、その災害で覚えられてそして学べる事は日本人の強さと回復力です。他の事について、私達はできれば助けて、ずっと「頑張って！」日本の皆に励まそうと思っています。

A simple guide to Japan!

最近僕の友達もっともっと日本へ行く予定があるから、僕に日本について色々の問題聞いた。
それで、日本へ最初行く人のために、ここで重要のこと分け合いたいんです。
よりしくお願いいたします。

Recently more and more of my friends are going to Japan for a holiday! Some of them asked me questions about Japan, about the basic questions and sentences they will need to say, etc., and hence I thought it might be a good idea to make a brief post on this topic here.

For ease in explaining, I am going to divide this post into two sections – (1) language basics, and (2) things you need to note.
