お久しぶりです！
最近はとても忙しいです。でも、今は仕事もう止めたので、暇になれると思う。最近のカラオケクラスで、伊藤由奈の「Trust You」が好きに成ったよ。今皆に分け合いたいです。
I have been very busy lately and hence unable to update this blog. However, as I have stopped my job recently in preparation for the JET Programme 2012, I hope I can have more time on my hands. Recently, Yuna Ito’s Trust You grew on me, and I want to share the meaningful lyrics and beautiful melody with everyone.
This song, entitled “Trust You”, is sung by Yuna Ito 伊藤由奈, as the ending song for Gundam 00.

It is time to shine …
最近 Dream Live 2 もう一回見た後で、この言葉を思い出して、よく覚えた。
「血の滲むような努力は、きれいな一筋の汗になる、きっとそんな汗はクリスタル、栄光を集めて虹に輝く。」
今ジェットプログラムに参加ができること、本当に今までの努力賞だと思うね。これからも、栄光を集めて虹に輝くために、頑張ります！
Recently, I watched Dream Live 2 again and I was constantly reminded of the following phrase. I remembered this phrase well.
“Our great efforts running in our blood will turn into beautiful sweat, certainly this sweat will be like a crystal. It will gather our glory and shine like a rainbow.”
Now that I have made it to the JET Programme, this phrase means more to me than ever before. I hope that I continue to shine like a rainbow through the sweat I will accumulate in this programme.
This song, entitled ‘Crystal’, was performed by the 2nd Generation cast in Prince of Tennis Musical: Dream Live 2nd, held on August 20, 2005.

あの花とSecret Base 君がくれたものが、好きじゃん～！
最近はアニメを少し見た。
そのアニメの中で、すごく涙ぐしくいアニメを見たから、皆と分け合いたいです。
アニメの名前は、「あの日見た花の名前を僕達まだ知らない」です。
日本で今年の四月から六月までテレビで見られた。
このアニメの話し：
たくさん年間前に、超平和バスターズの中で、メンバーの一人めんまを死んだ。
あの時から、超平和バスターズの子供達がそろそろ大きくなってけど、いつも過去のことを忘れなかった。
いつかの夏に、めんまが仁太の前に現れた。願いが一つまだ果たさないですから。
でも、めんまはその願いがどんな願いを忘れた。仁太はめんまの願いを果たすために、超平和バスターズの皆を探さなきゃ、その願いを探して、一緒に果たそう。
僕が大好きです、そのアニメは。皆も見てね。
そして、アニメの主題歌もおもしろいです。名前は「Secret Base 君がくれたもの」です。
二千一年のとき、ZONE もう歌った。
今年のアニメを作るために、アニメの声優たちがそのソングをカバーした。

Top of the Stage for the Tennis 歌った！
昨日のカラオケクラスで僕は「Top of the Stage for the Tennis」を歌った。テニスの王子様ミュジカル「Dream Live 4th」からの歌だ。歌の意味がたくさんあって、メロディがきれい。じゃ、ここで皆と分け合う！

Virgin Road を聞いてから吃驚した！
夕べ僕は第61回NHK紅白歌合戦を見た。浜崎あゆみの歌うことを聞いてから、吃驚したよ！凄い歌うことですね！じゃ、この歌を練習して始めた！そして、歌の意味を習ってね。。。
Yesterday night I was watching the 61st Kōhaku Uta Gassen, more commonly known as simply Kōhaku. This is originally aired in 2010, and I chanced by it while searching for Japanese songs online.
The Kōhaku is an annual music show on New Year’s Eve produced by Japanese public broadcaster NHK and broadcast on both television and radio, nationally and internationally by NHK’s networks and some overseas (mainly cable) broadcasters which bought the program. The show ends shortly before midnight (when NHK switches to a frenzy of “Happy New Year” greetings from around the nation).
Literally “Red and White Song Battle,” the program divides the most popular music artists of the year into competing teams of red and white. The “red” team or akagumi (赤組, 紅組) is composed of all female artists (or groups with female vocals), while the “white” team or shirogumi (白組) is all male (or groups with male vocals). The honor of performing on Kōhaku is strictly by invitation, so only the most successful J-Pop artists and enka singers can perform. In addition to the actual music performances, the costumes, hair-styles, makeup, dancing, and lighting are also important. Even today, a performance on Kōhaku is said to be a big highlight in a singer’s career because of the show’s large reach. (Source: wikipedia)
Anyway, I was awestruck by this stage entry by Ayumi Hamasaki. She was dressed in a bridal dress, all white, with a long tail held by 3 bridesmaids, and look absolutely stunning. Her song, Virgin Road, is marvellous as well. I quickly did a search on the lyrics of the song and learnt the meaning behind it. It is truly a beautifully-written song.

この頃俺は嵐の「ふるさと」歌を聞いた。この歌は有意義で、綺麗ですね。聞いてから、「頑張って日本：俺たちの故郷！」と思うよ！

About 5 months after the disastrous March 11 earthquake transpired, Japan has done well in its rebuilding efforts although its currency and economy are still struggling to revive to its previous value. Tourism efforts for Japan are also very commendable, with the various initiatives JNTO and travel agencies have come up with – Jalan Jalan Japan, Travel Volunteer Project, Changi Japan Travel Fair, H.I.S. Japan Photo Contest, etc.
With this, I find this song very apt in encouraging and urging people in Japan after the disaster dampened the public mood, as it is very meaningful and heartwarming. I want to share it with everyone out there now, with the continual hope that Japan will work hard to become the ‘hometown’ all of us love!

Recently, the tune of a particular Japanese song keeps getting stuck in my head. Hence, I thought I would share with everyone this song. I like the melody and tune of the song, and listening to it cheers me up. The song is titled LOTUS, and is released by Arashi on February 23, 2011. *still quite new*

《山田太郎ものがたり》涙ぐましいよ！
Recently, to get my mind off things, I started searching for j-dramas to watch. I came across 《山田太郎ものがたり》or Yamada Tarou Monogatari, translated to “The Story of Yamada Tarou”, which seems like a good high school drama series to watch. I love school stories and dramas because those are my most enjoyable times, and I like to reminisce about them through watching dramas.

After finishing 《山田太郎ものがたり》 I found that this drama is not only about school life, but it also talks about the importance of family support, and how anyone can be poor but yet happy. It sends a very strong message in each of its 10 episodes, and the scenes are very touching to watch. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who has not watched it yet.
In addition, the main actor in this film, 二宮和也 (Ninomiya Kazunari), who is also a member of the boy band 嵐 (Arashi) sang a most memorable song entitled 痕跡 (‘konseki’ or Vestige) as part of Arashi’s concert:

会えなくても記憶をたどって 同じ幸せを見たいんだ ~
As we pray to give our blessings to Japan, here’s a song to share with one and all, in Japan and outside of Japan – a song that sings about the binding ties between loved ones, no matter where each other is at. Many in Japan are holding on to this kind of hope, no matter where their loved ones are, no matter whether they are yet still alive, stay strong and don’t cry.

このうたのメロディーは すごいなあ！
去年僕は『正しい王子の作り方』を初回見るね。そして、このドラムが好きだよ。この頃『正しい王子の作り方』がもう一回見て、主題歌『マジック』が拾って、落とすね。ここで、皆に分け合うね。
Last year, I watched 正しい王子の作り方 “Tadashii Ouji no Tsukurikata” for the first time. “Tadashii Ouji no Tsukurikata”, literally translated as The Recipe for an Ideal Prince, is a Japanese television drama first aired in Japan from January to March, 2008. The story tells a girls’ high school suddenly announcing their plans to become co-ed, with ten new boys joining the class as part of the trial programme. However, these ten boys are far below the girls’ expectations. Hence, the girls devise a plan to change the boys into princes.
Recently, I watched this drama again, and decided to search and download the theme song マジック “Magic”, sung by MEG, a Japanese singer-songwriter, composer and fashion designer. I love this song a lot, and the melody is really amazing. MEG can really sing very well. Here’s sharing this song with everyone!

I chanced upon this song of the Pokemon Galactic Battles season of the well-known cartoon series and felt that the lyrics are rather meaningful, hence posting it here to share with all of you.

Here’s sharing with all of you one of my favorite Japanese songs of all times! I like to listen to this song whenever I’m feeling down, because the catchy melodies just carry me along and inspires me to pick myself up and follow my heart “On my way” to achieving my dreams.

This is actually a song about saying to oneself that “I will not lose” and “On my way” to my dreams. As for the actual translation of the song, I will put it up in my next post.
